Handmade, Vintage & Upcycled Items
Every effort is made to accurately describe products. Because many items are handmade, vintage, reclaimed, or upcycled:
No two items will be identical. Minor imperfections may occur.
Vintage materials may contain age-related marks and wear. Upcycled products may include reclaimed components with visible signs of previous use.
These characteristics are considered part of the item's unique charm and are not regarded as faults unless otherwise stated.
Wax Melts
Due to the process of making/curing wax melts, some scents may take up to 10 days to create - this is in addition to your chosen collection/delivery service so please keep this in mind if you are ordering items for a specific occasion.
All home fragrance products sold by The Tinkers Nest are handmade and made to order. As these products are produced specifically for each customer, we do not accept returns or exchanges for:
change of mind, personal fragrance preference, incorrect product selection by the customer or unwanted orders.
This does not affect your statutory rights.
If a home fragrance product arrives damaged, faulty, or not as described, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photographs where possible. We will investigate the issue and, where appropriate, offer a replacement, repair, or refund in accordance with UK consumer law.
Please note that fragrance perception is subjective and scent strength or fragrance preference cannot be accepted as grounds for a return/refund.
Wax Melt Safety & Liability Disclaimer
By purchasing and using wax melts from The Tinkers Nest, customers acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to follow all safety instructions and usage guidelines provided with the product.
Wax melts must only be used in suitable wax warmers or burners and should never be left unattended while in use. Customers are responsible for ensuring products are used safely, kept away from children and pets, and used in accordance with all supplied safety information.
The Tinkers Nest accepts no responsibility for damage, loss, or injury resulting from misuse, improper handling, failure to follow safety instructions, or use of products in a manner other than intended.
Nothing in this disclaimer excludes or limits liability where it cannot be excluded under applicable UK law, including liability for defective products or personal injury caused by negligence.
Vintage/Retro/Upcycled Pieces
At The Tinkers Nest, I carefully source and create unique vintage, retro, and upcycled items. Due to the nature of these products, all items are sold as seen and described on my website. Please note:
Vintage, retro, and upcycled items may show signs of age, wear, previous use, repairs, or imperfections consistent with their history and character.
I make every effort to accurately photograph and describe each item, including any notable flaws, marks, or signs of wear.
Colours may vary slightly due to differences in screen settings and photography.
By purchasing these items, customers acknowledge that they have reviewed the photographs and product descriptions provided before placing an order. Due to the unique nature of vintage, retro, and upcycled items, returns and exchanges are not accepted for: change of mind, Personal preference, incorrect sizing or suitability, natural signs of age, wear, or imperfections that have been clearly shown or described, minor variations in colour or appearance.
However, your statutory rights under UK consumer law are not affected:
If your item arrives damaged in transit, is faulty, or is significantly different from the description provided, please contact The Tinkers Nest within 48 hours of delivery and provide photographs of the item and packaging where applicable. Each case will be reviewed individually and, where appropriate, a repair, replacement, partial refund, or full refund may be offered. By placing an order with The Tinkers Nest, you acknowledge and accept these terms.
General
Any cost in relation to returning an item/s is at the customers expense.
Lost, Missing or Delayed Orders
The Tinkers Nest uses couriers for the delivery of orders in the UK.
Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive tracking information where applicable. Please allow sufficient time for delivery, particularly during busy periods, adverse weather conditions, postal strikes, or circumstances outside the courier's control.
Delayed Deliveries
If your parcel is delayed, we kindly ask that you allow additional time for delivery, as tracking updates can occasionally be delayed.
Missing Parcels
If your parcel has not arrived within 7 days of the expected delivery date, please contact me as soon as possible with your order number and tracking details. I will open an enquiry with the courier and investigate the whereabouts of your parcel. A parcel will not be considered lost until the courier has completed its investigation and confirmed that the parcel cannot be located.
Parcels Marked as Delivered
If tracking shows your parcel as delivered but you have not received it, please: check around your property and any designated safe place. check with neighbours or other household members and review any delivery photographs provided by the courier.
If you are still unable to locate your parcel, contact me within 48 hours of the delivery notification so that we can raise the matter with the courier.
Incorrect Delivery Information
Customers are responsible for providing accurate delivery details when placing an order. The Tinkers Nest cannot be held responsible for parcels delayed, lost, or delivered to an incorrect address supplied by the customer.
Replacement or Refund
Where the courier confirms that a parcel has been lost in transit, The Tinkers Nest will, where possible, offer a replacement item. If a replacement is unavailable, a refund will be issued for the value of the order.
Refunds or replacements will only be processed once the courier's investigation has been completed and the parcel has been officially deemed lost.
Damaged Parcels
If your parcel arrives damaged, please contact me within 48 hours of delivery and provide clear photographs of: the damaged item(s), the internal packaging and the external packaging. This information may be required to support a claim with the courier.
The Tinkers Nest reserves the right to refuse claims where insufficient evidence is provided or where damage is reported significantly after delivery.

Customer information is stored securely and only retained for as long as necessary.
